What happens to social media when you die?

It seems that the older I get the faster life goes. That’s why I’m planning to take a few weeks off around the Christmas and New Year’s holidays to just catch my breath. It’s also the time of year when I give attention to projects that I’ve been meaning to take care of.

One of these projects is to prepare a social media will. That’s right – A will, as in last will and testament.

Have you ever thought about what will happen to your social media accounts when you pass? Given the presence of social media in our lives, this is an issue that needs to be planned for, just as you would other items in your will. Thinking and talking about death is not a comfortable thing. But planning ahead, while still on earth, lends a sense of satisfaction that I’ll be leaving my loved ones in good shape. I’m sure it’s the organizer in me!

My friend and colleague, Gina Schreck, is a technology expert who recently wrote a very helpful article on this topic. It’s so thorough and contains such great tips that I wanted to pass it on to you. I am sure you’ll find it helpful and informative.
